Monica Cliveti is a geologist by trade with a double Master of Sciences awarded by the University of Regina, Canada, and the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Despite having no formal education in Translation, she has built her expertise in the field thanks to her love for languages and learning and her journey. Indeed, the help of a translator in a time of need convinced her to follow the translation path in the hope that one day she could help somebody else. Since 2015, she has sat in various capacities on the ATIS board of directors. In November 2020, she was elected President of the association. A year later, in November 2021, she became treasurer of The Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC). Often described as a doer, Monica is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of translators and interpreters in daily life.
