Duties: The Board of directors of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Saskatchewan (ATIS) is currently looking for an administrative assistant. Working closely with the Board President and Treasurer, the administrative assistant is responsible for the following: a. Communication management between the Board of directors and the membership. It includes developing and using email templates using an email management system (Gmail and Mailchimp). b. Basic money management to ensure a smooth administrative process between the members and the treasurer. c. Documenting ATIS procedures, including preparing books for year-end tax filing in close collaboration with the treasurer. d. Board Meeting documentation.

Position: Administrative Assistant

Type of Contract: Contract, paid based on a monthly invoice

Location: Remote work environment (Regina resident preferred)

Salary: $30 per hour

Number of hours: 40 h/month on average

Contract Duration: 12 months, with possible renewal at the next AGM in October 2023

Starting date: As soon as possible

The organization

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Saskatchewan was incorporated in 1980 to foster and promote translation and interpretation in the province. It is a non-profit professional association and an affiliate of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC).


The successful candidate for this position will have to be available to attend the monthly board meetings in the evening and the AGM on a Saturday once a year. The person is open to working with a volunteer board of directors and understands that this is a new position that the successful candidate will help shape. An onboarding period will allow the person to work closely with the President of ATIS to get familiar with the daily tasks.


The successful candidate 

·         Has experience using Microsoft Suite, Mailchimp, Zoom in a professional setting

·         Is organized, both in an office setting and a virtual environment

·         Has good writing and communication skills in English

·         Has some knowledge of the translation industry

·         Has a basic understanding of bookkeeping

·         Is flexible to work outside of office hours

·         Has its computer and reliable internet connection to work remotely

·         Can legally work in Canada
